Breach Exclusive: George Lucas Remaking Star Wars 4, 5, 6 with Original Cast and Digital Han Solo!

I was sitting around the other day doing nothing. Maybe I was watching 13 Going On 30. Fine, I totally was. But then the phone rang and it was none other than George Lucas. He was already speaking mid-sentence about how the constant retooling he had performed on the negative for Episode IV had made the 3D conversion impossible. In a fit of rage, Lucas burned all of his prints available, put a hole through the wall with his face, and dusted off his original scripts.

Breachtube: Revenge of the Sith Review by Red Letter Media

Saw Ebert tweet this the other day and I had to check it out. If you are not familiar with the gentleman doing this review, you’re in for a treat. That is if you have nearly two hours to devote to a Revenge of the Sith video review. Revenge on “Revenge of the Sith” – [...]

News I Stole from Magazines I Read 3: Son of News I Stole

I figure if I just wear a fedora with a “PRESS” card in the band, I can get into at least a few screenings. Right? Until then, I’ve found a better media center for to steal my news. No noisy kids or students. No chess clubs or parental invasions. Just a hot asiago pretzel and iced white mocha. Extra shot. Light ice. And a window seat with a sill. And wifely company. Exactly how theft should be.

Breachtube: AT-AT Day Afternoon

What if you had a pet AT-AT? ¬†This video that I discovered in one of Brian Posehn’s tweets yesterday answers that question. ¬†It’s done by a fellow named Patrick Boivin, who is a rather accomplished YouTuber and maker of these sorts of micro-shorts. ¬†It doesn’t really need anything else to set it up really, and [...]

Star Wars Hexalogy Coming to Blu-Ray

That’s right, ‘Hexalogy’. ¬†You like that? ¬†Alright so this is the biggest ‘no duh’ news story I’ve ever run on the site, but it had to be reported. ¬† I promise I won’t cry about Greedo shooting first, and I won’t mention that the final moments of the third prequel were ruined by Darth Vader [...]

SXSW 2010 Review: The People vs. George Lucas

I think at some point, every film fan has been pissed off at Mr. Lucas. I wasn’t so mad about the Star Wars Special Editions or prequels. But I imagine that if I hadn’t been on my honeymoon when I saw Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and thus in a heightened state of happiness, I would have blown a gasket. And he didn’t even direct that movie.

The People vs. George Lucas is a documentary that analyzes this bizarre relationship that filmgoers have with the man behind some of the biggest pop culture icons we’ve ever had. The movie navigates through a series of talking heads, stock footage, and fan made media to illustrate not only the dearth of material for and against the man but also just to show how ingrained into our society his work is. This all allows the movie to be extremely humorous at times and even strangely touching.

SXSW 2010 Preview: The People vs. George Lucas

Jesse and I will be attending the SXSW Film Festival this year so I thought I would start showing some previews of what we’re planning on seeing. First up is The People vs. George Lucas, which looks to be an expos√© on how Lucas’ fans have turned against him due to all the choices he’s made with the Star Wars films. The whole topic is pretty hair splitting for film geeks so this looks like an interesting piece. Check out the trailer after the jump!
