Buying durable products is important for a consumer. It is considered a waste of money if a newly bought product crumbles under the pressure of use easily. The best products are those that do not break or get damaged easily.

Donald Glover starred in a little movie called Mystery Team with his comedy troupe, I think. Aubrey Plaza's in it too. It's on instant and it's worth a watch; the comedy is really awkward. Well that's all I wanted to say. Imagine that I just flew away.

My beef with this movie actually pertains to other action based movies as well. Why don't these actors have facial expressions? I understand that it's a movie and not theatre so they don't need to "over do" it, but still. If I was leaving my home to go probably kill a bunch of kids against my will and get murdered in the process I think I would be freaking out and cry and flail about all Shakespearean style. Being in shock is one thing, but the way Katniss has been described to me from the book, she's kinda dumb (which, great, by the way, ANOTHER kinda dumb, female "heroine" for youngsters to look up to) I image she would have a harder time coping with the whole ordeal. " Oh, I just killed a kid " - blank stare. I mean, even Rippley cries in, like, all but 1 of the Alien movies and she's an unwilling hero too. It's just not in the movie at all. Anyway, agree with me or not, I just want my hero to actually give a f***.

Also, really funny Haiku this time. Glad to be married to you. :)

Although I STILL, after all these years, kinda can't believe you don't like STRANGELOVE, I did enjoy your haiku.

So many little questions and comments here: What was the one stand out scene? I don't think you ever told me. I agree that the sense of danger/hunger was missing, but I guess the more I think of it, the more I realize that they really couldn't do it in a PG-13 flick; beyond that, even if it were R, I don't think they could do it and still reach an audience. I don't know. As you know, the book was tense and harrowing. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised it enjoyed such wild popularity, considering how dark and difficult it was. A movie that was true to it would NOT have been popular. I think people who wanted it more true-to-book wanted/expected a movie more like THE ROAD, which I thought was well done and which I think won some awards but which I gather was not a wildly popular crowd-pleaser. Anyways. I'm still happy that they didn't succumb to the urge to go TOTALLY action-based, and that they devoted so much screen time to pre-game prep.

Given that I think much of society would NOT actually like a truer adaptation, it's weird to me how bitchy people have been about the casting. It's not even that Lawrence is REMOTELY CHUBBY -- she's just round, as in, she has round facial features. That kind of threw me but I thought acting-wise she captured Katniss fairly well, so it was no big. The dude who played Gale was a lot rounder in the face/nose than I was expecting, too -- I imagined both of them as more angular, and since we didn't see him long enough to get a sense of his acting, his boy band look bothered me more. But I did like how most of the kids in it were actually KIDS. I have no idea why people freaked over Rue and Thresh, you know, besides the fact that people are racist dicks. It's funny, b/c even though I pictured Rue as Indian or Middle Eastern, her face was just like dead on exactly what I imagined, and I think she was the only character for which this held true, though plenty of the others sold me. Maybe even Lenny Kravitz would have if he'd shaved. Mos Def would have of course been better.

Sorry to ramble, it's just the RAREST OF OCCASIONS that I've actually seen a movie you review! It's very exciting.
