We ditched a panel that Quentin Tarantino didn’t show up for to go watch this movie. Sometimes hopping into a movie as a “time killer” can be a disaster (Four Boxes). Sometimes it’s an excellent surprise (Moon). Here with Barry Munday, however, it’s somewhere in between. I didn’t exactly love this movie, but I couldn’t help to at least enjoy it either. Not to mention, it has a healthy amount of laughs and in the end some pretty good schmaltz to boot.

A Swiss Sci-Fi flick. Looks pretty cool but I don’t really know anything more about it. I went into Moon with the same preparation last year so I’ll leave it at that. Check out the trailer and see if you’re interesting.

I decided to preview all of the mainstream flicks hitting SXSW for this week’s set of previews. We’ll start with The Runaways, starring Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. I really don’t know what this movie’s about but it has Alan Tudyk so I’m there. It’s one of the midnight films of the festival, which are primarily genre/horror films. This one looks to please both fronts. The trailer is after the jump.
Jesse and I will be attending the SXSW Film Festival this year so I thought I would start showing some previews of what we’re planning on seeing. First up is The People vs. George Lucas, which looks to be an expos√© on how Lucas’ fans have turned against him due to all the choices he’s made with the Star Wars films.
