I allegedly like movies; I like games. Things that will destroy my productivity for spring/summer 2012 in gaming are Dragon's Dogma (PS3), The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition (360), The Last Story (Wii), Prey 2 (for whatever, just release it, please). Movies that will fill the void between games include The Avengers, Prometheus, Brave, Moonrise Kingdom, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Amazing Spider-man, The Dark Knight Rises, Premium Rush (fuck you, cycling is dangerous)

The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition - Launch Trailer

Tomorrow I’ll be constantly reminding myself that I’m an adult and adults don’t go out and buy things they want just because they want them. Instead, they post trailers of them on websites, gush about how they want them, feign restraint, and get meta in an introductory paragraph. Currently, I’m in chapter two of The [...]

Ni No Kuni: Wraith of the White Witch - English Trailer

It’s the gaming and movie equivalent of those Taco Bell Dorito tacos. I mean, as anybody whose ever seen a Studio Ghibli film, why wouldn’t you want to play something with that kind of emotional scope, visual beauty, and epic score as a game? Whether or not this will be any good remains to be [...]

Gunpoint: an upcoming game with wires, face planting, and face punching

It feels good coming out of my Skyrim-induced coma. My vitamins D and C deficiencies are becoming a thing of the past and I’ve been noticing new little gaming gems out of my peripheral vision like Gunpoint. The video will explain it all for you. There are apparently better comparisions for gamers with more experienced [...]

Gigli

There’s a part of me that feels guilty about admitting this. After all, we here at the Breach are nothing if not the pinnacle of movie reviewing professionalism, providing the entertainment starved masses with sharp, timely, movie and video game reviews that delve deeper than those of our brothers in blogging. So it is with [...]

The World of Skyrim: 2 days and counting.

I’d like to thank everybody here at Mediabreach for putting up with my shenanigans but I’m going to be taking a vacation in the mead filled halls of Skyrim’s various cities soon. Bethesda has been keeping the hype caravan going over the course of this last month by posting videos depicting various behind the scenes [...]

Review: Trollhunter

There’s a large, gaping hole left in a weird, over looked film genre, I think. I’m not even sure it could be referred to as an official “genre;” I just feel as though I haven’t seen a movie like Ghostbusters in a long time.  I’m talking about a movie that takes a generally scary [...]

Review: Crazy, Stupid, Love

Cal Weaver’s wife, Emily, wants a divorce. She also banged another dude that she works with. David Lindhagen is his name. Within the first 10-15 minutes, Cal (Steve Carrell) is divorced from Emily (Julianne Moore) and getting dating and style lessons from the nicest “should-be-a-douche-but-isn’t” alpha male on the planet in the form of Jacob [...]

Trailer Round Up: PAX Prime 2011, James Edition

From everything I’ve gathered, this year’s Pax was pretty rad as it usually tends to be.  When you aren’t a giant P.R. campaign for the business end of games, that tends to be the case I suppose…*cough*E3*cough*.  Anyhoo, there didn’t seem to be a whole lot in terms of surprises.  Counter Strike: Global Offensive was [...]

Jim Carrey creepily, awkwardly & hilariously pines for Emma Stone.

This is the kind of thing you want to start your morning off with – validation that your perfectly natural crush on a girl half your age is normal. Actually, I didn’t need that as both Emma and I were born in the same decade. I’m just happy Jim decided to work out his feelings [...]

Aliens: Colonial Marines (Trailer 2)

James Cameron’s Aliens is better than Ridley Scott’s Alien. Check out that shit stirring! But really, everybody falls into either one of those two camps when it comes this franchise. I happen to prefer the more actiony sequel but I won’t prevent anybody from stating otherwise; the first is a fine thriller. But you can’t [...]

WARNING!, "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" Ep. 1, contains Guns/Slow Motion!

Well here we are. A summer ago, Kevin Tancharoen hit us in the face with his promising take on Mortal Kombat and now the first webisode of this reimagining is on youtube. Yup. That was it. I have to say, this feels noticeably underwhelming when comparing it to the initial video released last summer. In [...]

Thundercats Wondercon Trailer

A new Wondercon trailer for Cartoon Network’s upcoming rehash of 1980′s Thundercats is up and so am I. Unlike the previous trailer, this one gives us a better idea of what the premise is and lets us hear some of the voice acting. I’m dusting off my Thundertcats mythology diploma – that I gave myself [...]

Battle: Los Angeles has a beginning, middle, & end.

Let’s run down the mundane things you do in a typical day: shower, brush your teeth, eat something, smoke something, go to the bathroom in something, talk to somebody, etc. Barring something extraordinary happening during any of these, you won’t remember the specifics of any of those things. So one day, sometime during the evening, [...]

Hawken, the downloadable indie game that could?

Or more than likely will, jeebus. Hawken had come to my attention previously in a conventional trailer that was released about a month ago. But let’s face it, cut trailers mean dick when it comes to games; it’s the gameplay trailers that really matter. So the developer, Adhesive Games, decided to kick everybody in the [...]

Somebody Chrono Triggers Minecraft

On the record, Chrono Trigger is my favorite turn based JRPG. It’s on my “Play It Annually” list of games that are a sort of gaming comfort food. The story for the time, was fucking amazing no matter what ending you got and that’s all due the wonderfully written characters – the first ever in [...]
