Breachcast XXXV

Fair warning: This is going to be really nerdy.

Boy are you guys lucky you have me and (I'm assuming) Zack. The Green Lanterns' (Yup, plural. The Green Lantern Corps. are an interstellar police force) rings tap into a power source (GL's base of ops. central battery on planet Oa) that allows them to make anything they can imagine out of solid energy. This includes energy blasts, a force field that sustains life support in space, green hammers, green creamed corn, green hookers, and his costume. The catch is, it takes a complete focus and will power to make the ring work.

So it's with that encyclopedic nerdery backing me up, I'm cool with the CG costume if they can pull it off. In the inevitable scene where Van Wilder gets his ass kicked, you can rest assure the costume will flicker off and we get to see some Van Wild ass.

Whedon at the helm of the Avengers. I hope for the best but I don't trust him with this. Of course, you guys know I love Firefly, I was down with most of the seasons of Buffy but I dunno. I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that he can direct something that feels like the major motion picture awesomeness that something like Avengers deserves. Serenity felt and looked like a big TV episode. I don't want Avengers to do that. Plus…I hate his fight scenes. They look amateur. I completely agree with point about his being more of a writer but consider that, I'm not sure I want Marvel Superheroes spouting his dialogue. His stuff seems to work best when writing for his creations.

never actually been a big lantern fan. personally, i think hal jordan's at his best when taking the beatdown in the yellow room from dick grayson in frank miller's ALLSTAR BATMAN AND ROBIN.

LOL, Reynolds is too busy playing every superhero possible (Deadpool, GL, and Blade's lil' Bitch). Got no time for Jack Ryan. Besides, how weird would it be for him to play a dude whose last name is the same as his first? Mind = Blown!!
